Minutes of the meeting held on the 31st January 2008
Present. A.Cawthorn(Chair), A.Waters, C.Woods, P.Drake, J.O'Neill, M.

A.Cawthorn opened the meeting with the prayer to the Holy Spirit and the Mission Prayer.
1. Review of the Holy Week and Easter Liturgies.
It was noted that all the services are printed in the new Mass Books.
Palm Sunday. Welcomers to church that day could inform people of the format
of the liturgy.
People to be asked to sit before the start of the service.
Children to leave for their own liturgy after the 2nd reading. Full Gospel to
be read by the rest of the congregation. 3 readers.
D.Warwick to be asked to provide 2 readers for the Saturday and Sunday night
services.
Holy Thursday
As last year but with a change to the music. Let me wash your feet to be sung
as the offertory hymn.
P.Drake to ask children and families in First Communion group to have their
feet washed.
Good Friday
3.00pm Service. As last year.
9.30am. Churches Together will meet outside Booths. There will be no Stations
of the Cross in the morning.
Easter Vigil
The large amount of work this service involved was acknowledged. Everyone however
felt it was worth continuing with the present format, including the slide show.
A discussion took place re the importance of recruiting new readers if possible for all the services.
2.Bidding Prayers
These continue to be well received. A.Cawthorn suggested at the Parish Council
that other groups might help to write them. No volunteers have yet come forward.

3.Items for the PDT and Parish Council.
The group feel strongly that some spiritual guidance concerning liturgical development
would be welcome. Fr. P. Foulks who came last year had expressed a willingness
to return and we would like to invite him. Any sessions organised would be available
to other groups. It was noted the Eucharistic Ministers had asked for a similar
day and it was thought the two could be usefully combined.

Ash Wednesday The music chosen was Amazing Grace, Allegri's Miserere, and The
Servant King. Booklets had been prepared.
Mass for the Sick and Housebound ? After Tea and Chat on 22nd February.
Scripture Reflection It was agreed to reinstate this at the start of our meetings.
C.Woods agreed to be group liaison to the bulletin. J.O'Neill will lead on
poster provision with F.Dronsfield.
R.Page to be asked to be group curator.
Date of next meeting 26th. February.
