St Joseph’s Parish Liturgy Group

Minutes of the meeting on the 19th February 2007

Present: A. Cawthorne, (Chair), P. Drake, K. Moore, P. Metcalfe, R. Page, A. Waters, M. Johnson

Apologies: Fr. Harry, P. Crean, A. Jones, E. Kelly.

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted.
Matters Arising: F. Dronsfield has ordered the booklets for Palm Sunday, Year C, and the palms.

Anne Cawthorne opened the meeting with a prayer to the Holy Spirit. The group then considered a scripture reading chosen by Anne Waters.

Lenten Services
Station Mass. This service for 28th February has been prepared and the orders of service just need photocopying. 200 was thought to be the estimated number needed.

Stations of the Cross
23rd February Youth Group
2nd March Liturgy Group
9th March SVP/ Church cleaners
16th March PDT
23rd March Faith and Light
30th March Choir

Reconciliation Service is to be planned. MCJ will e-mail previous services to K.Moore.

Palm Sunday
Service has been planned by P.Drake and E. Kelly. The first hymn has been changed to Children of Jerusalem. D. Warwick has been asked to nominate two readers for the Gospel.
Holy Thursday.
A planning meeting has been arranged for the 22nd February. Anne Zammit has suggested some new music. P. Drake and A.Waters will ask the first Communion children and parents if they will be willing to take part.
Good Friday
A.Zammit will be consulted about the use of music in the service.
Easter Vigil.
E.Gillet to be contacted re; PowerPoint presentation, it is hoped this year we can find an IT friendly younger person to operate it on the night. The service will start at 20.00hrs.

Sunday Mass.
Discussion will take place after Easter.
A video from café will be obtained to see if it would be of use.
Anne Waters told the group of a Presentation of the Passion done by a Birmingham ensemble that she was due to see, which might be suitable for use at St Joseph's next year. She will obtain further information for the next meeting.
