Liturgy Day
The group felt the day had been excellent and had given us much to consider. We all greatly appreciated Fr. Foulkes' hard work in preparing and presenting the day.
The 5 folders he had prepared are expected to be a useful resource.
I folder is at St. Cuthbert's and they have promised to return it.
1 folder has been given to St. Peter's parish for their use.
1 folder is with Kath and Dennis Warburton, for the house groups to consider.
2 folders remain with members of the liturgy group and will be passed around for everyone to consider.

C. Woods told the group, that in an e-mail to her, Fr Foulkes had expressed his willingness to return and put on talks for the readers and the Eucharistic ministers.
The group felt this might well be an offer we will accept in the future.
Some disappointment was felt at the relatively small numbers who had attended, especially as we had made individual approaches to many people involved in the parish liturgy. It was difficult to think of any way we could improve the attendance at such events in the future, but Saturday was felt to be a difficult day for those working or with school age children.
Involving St Peters was felt to be a positive development and joint meetings of this type may be a good idea in the future.
The " With Hearts and Minds" books suggested by Fr. Foulkes, had been acquired by Pauline Drake and distributed to the group. Discussion took place as to how we could best use them. It was decided to discuss with Fr. Harry if they should be used for a Lenten Course, instead of the ecumenical meetings we have had in the past.
It was felt it would be important to retain the ecumenical services especially Good Friday morning, but that this course could well replace the previous study groups.

October Devotions
As previously recorded the Rosary will be recited after morning Mass on weekdays. Fred Dronsfield will organise the people to lead it during the first week of the month until we know how Fr. Harry wishes to proceed.

November Devotions
The PDT has asked the group to arrange the blessing of the new Memorial stone in the church grounds.
It was decided that this will take place after the morning Mass on the Feast of the Holy Souls, November 2nd. (Wednesday).
It was also decided that at the offertory at Mass on that day small candles would be lit and placed on the altar, to commemorate the parishioners who have died in the last 12 months.
Christine Woods will compile a list of the names we know from the parish register and we will put the list in the bulletin in advance of the service, so any names we do not know can be added. People will be given the opportunity to add names they wish to be remembered who were not members of this parish.
The names of the dead will be placed in a basket and taken up to the altar with the bread and wine during November, as we have done in previous years.
The service to bless the Memorial stone will be advertised in the bulletin.
Christine Woods and Ann. Cawthorn will meet to devise an order of service for the Mass and Blessing of the memorial stone.

Feast of Christ the King 20th. November.
As this is youth Sunday Pat Ormond will be approached about the Mass that day.
Last years Mass, prepared by the youth had been good and it is hoped to have the same type of service this year.

Advent
Services for Advent will be discussed at the next meeting.

Date of next meeting 19th. October at 7.30pm.
