Edwina Gillett (chair)
Fr. Harry Holden
Jan O'Neill

Sr Anne

1: Edwina opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. She then led the opening prayer and scripture reflection.

2: Immediate business items:
Fr. Joe's Golden Jubilee. The numbers for the celebrations have been agreed. The caterers are okay, the tables and wine are organised. Bill Drake is to bake a cake and Bill will give Fr Joe a cheque at the end of Mass. Edwina said that the number of Fr Joe's guest have risen and that she would speak to him about it.

Nominated person for marriages. 2 people are needed to fulfil duties as civil registrars - Anne Williams and Helen Shields have volunteered for this role.

Potential Diaconate candidates. Names were mentioned at the previous meeting but it was felt that it would be better if people were approached rather than waiting for them to come forward . Fr Harry was asked about speaking to them but he said that he didn't know them well enough to ask them. It was agreed that a member of the team should speak to 2 of the named men.
It was noted that Chris Barwise had been to speak to the parish and it was felt that this had been very successful.

Parish Administration Team representative. This team will oversee the day to day running of the church and a representative from the Development team is required to sit on it. Edwina said that she is fulfilling the role at the moment but she is looking for someone who would be around more often during the week. Bill Cookson volunteered to take over the role.

3: Priorities for the next 6 months:
Skills Audit: It was noted that the skills audit needs to be done following on from the Parish Census earlier in the year. Mike Zamit is constructing a database which can be updated and merged with Fr. Joe's. It will hold such info as:
- Children's ages for First Communion
- Who needs Communion from Eucharistic Ministers
Edwina said that she and Paul Kelly have produced a leaflet for the skills audit which can be done in the Autumn over 3 Sundays; the first an introduction, the second to go through the leaflet and the third to fill them in.

Engaging Youth in the Liturgy: Bill Drake said that the Liturgy group were going to start something in September to involve youth in the Liturgy. Jan said that she would speak to pat Ormond about involving the Youth Group in its own Liturgy. Helen said that she would speak to the Children's Liturgy group about carrying the Book and Banner again. Sister Anne said that we should be targeting the families i.e. the 30-45 year olds.

Strengthening links with our schools: the main reason to create links is to encourage the children into church. Helen said that she would talk to Jan Hornby about including things from Our Lady's into the bulletin.

Anything else: it was agreed that the Dedication service for the Memorial Stone should be held on 1st or 2nd November.

4. There was no A.O.B.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday 6th September at 7.30 pm
