The meeting with a prayer

Matters arising None, therefore minutes agreed and accepted.

1. Evaluation of the Easter services -

Lent
The Stations on Good Friday morning were a success however; perhaps attendance at "real services" in each of the churches would be better.
Reconciliation Service.
Disappointing attendance.? Sunday afternoon not good timing, or would General Absolution have been more successful, probably.
Churches Together in Ansdell : Lenten Services
Churches together Services. Better than the discussion groups, but still not a success, fewer people attend each year. Needs a rethink.
Easter
Everyone felt this had gone well especially
Children's involvement Palm Sunday Gospel
Easter Sunday morning
Maundy Thursday Reading from St John's Gospel
Easter Vigil The entire service Power Point presentation still very well received
Need to light the fire more safely next year
Good Friday People preferred using the small Crosses at the Veneration

2. Taize Evening

Plan to hold a Taize evening the Friday prior to Pentecost, to prepare for the Parish Assembly
Music and readings chosen. A.Zammit and C. Kelly to be asked to provide the musical accompaniment.
Booklets to be prepared by A.Waters and P. Crean
Church to be prepared with focal point on the altar using Taize cross, red drapes and red candles and plants. This to be done at 6.30pm.
Chairs to be brought from the hall and placed in front of altar steps.

3. Liturgy Day

Concern that we need to refresh this for next year
Desire to plan a Liturgy Day. Various speakers discussed. Fr Harry has been asked to consider further. Hope to involve the Readers and the Eucharistic Ministers.
Discussion -
What do We want from the day?
· It was thought that we would like some ideas for planning seasonal liturgies, occasional liturgies, Sunday Mass.
· We need a view about how the Liturgy group should develop and function
· Consideration could be given to involving the Youth Club, the Primary School and the High School during Sunday Mass occasionally.
· How we can involve others in the planning eg Eucharistic Ministers, Readers and other interested groups.

When shall we have this day?
· July was suggested if it can be arranged in time.

Where shall we hold the day?
· Various venues were suggested and discussed and it was thought that it might be best to hold it in our own hall.

Whom shall we invite to run the day?
· Several names were suggested and Anne Cawthorn is to discuss this further with Father Harry and make some initial enquiries as to the possible availability of those suggested.

4. Service for the Sick and Housebound
We didn't hold this last August for obvious reasons, nor in February. It is planned to hold another next August and the date suggested is Wednesday 31st August at 2.30pm.
We will liaise with the SVP and the Eucharistic Ministers who will be asked to help organise transport.

5. A.O.B.
Pentecost - mark is to be received into the church and he will choose the readings and hymns.

Parish Assembly will take place in the afternoon of Pentecost Sunday.

The meeting closed at 8.50 pm

Date of the next meeting - to be announced
