3. Minutes and Matters arising: The minutes agreed and accepted. No matters arising other than those to be dealt with under Agenda items.

4. Review of Advent and Christmas liturgies:
Advent:
Parish Service of Reconciliation - A successful service. More people attended than in previous years. Most people found the examination of conscience was helpful although some found it too long. Priority- Further discussion about the format for Reconciliation to take place at the next meeting.
Taize evening: Fr. Harry impressed. General feeling that the time limit imposed inhibited time for prayer and reflection. In future the evening needs to be planned in good time and length of service not limited. Musicians to be asked if available. Possibility of a service during Lent.
St. Peter's School's Advent service in church followed by seasonal refreshments in the hall was very successful.

Christmas Liturgies:
Carol Service before Midnight Mass - carefully planned. This year it took the form of an Advent meditation with Advent carols and readings but readings ought not to pre-empt the Christmas story or be the same as those to be read during the Mass. Some discussion about the form that this should take in the future and whether it should be a Carol service or an Advent service. It was agreed to discuss this at length in October and make a decision.
Midnight Mass and Christmas morning and Sunday Mass - Some disappointment voiced about these ceremonies. The liturgy that was planned was not followed. At the meeting held in November a decision was taken that any decisions made by the group should stand, be implemented and not changed. The feeling of the meeting strongly confirmed this decision and reiterated that if the liturgy is planned and agreed that is what should take place.

5. Churches Together Lenten Liturgies:
Christian Unity: There is to be a joint service on Sunday 23rd January, 3.00p.m. at St. Paul's Church and all churches are to take part. The Order of Service has been provided. Our parish has been invited to read the Prayers of Intercession. Anne Zammit is to play.
Lenten Liturgies: It has been decided to change the format of the joint Lenten Services this year. It has been agreed that a service will be held on Thursday evenings at 7.30 p.m. in one of the churches with a member of the clergy from another church preaching. Proposed dates and venues - Date Venue Preacher 10/2/05 St. Joseph's David Philips (White Church) 17/2/05 St. Paul's Rick Oldfield (Baptist) 24/2/05 Ansdell Baptist Caroline Ryder (Fairhaven Methodist) 3/3/05 Fairhaven Methodist Grahame Rouse ( St. Paul's) 10/3/05 White Church Fr. Harry ( St. Joseph's) We need to ask if we are to prepare the service in our church.

6. Forward Planning Lenten and Easter Liturgies:
Father Harry does not wish to make any changes to the way the liturgies have been prepared in previous years and is content to allow the group to plan accordingly.
Taize Service to be arranged Date is dependant on availability of musicians hopefully sometime after 21st February. St. Bede's School and Anne Zammit to be approached and invited to take part. Some books and tapes have been purchased to help with planning.
Reconciliation Service - To be held on Palm Sunday afternoon-20th March Stations of the Cross - As in previous years on Friday evening at 7.00p.m.
The Stations will take the place of the Liturgy of the Word and will be followed by the offertory of the Mass. Different groups in the parish to lead each week.
Palm Sunday Morning As in previous years with children involved in the procession. Pauline Drake, Liz Kelly, C. Woods, P. Crean
Easter Triduum to follow the format of last year. Small groups to work together to prepare the liturgy and then consult with Fr. Harry.
Holy Thursday - Mary Johnston, Margaret Long, Anne Jones
Good Friday - Anne Wormleighton and helper
Vigil Mass - Anne Cawthorn,Anne Waters, Pat Crean. The exsultet may be sung by a woman this year.
A suggestion was made that each group could try to invite some help from other members of the parish.

7. A.O.B:
A request was made that the arrangements for the Children's Liturgy on Sunday be as they are for the present because there are too few catechists available to extend the rota.
It was suggested that in line with the arrangements for Eucharistic Ministers at the weekend Masses a similar rota could be drawn up for weekday masses. A rota is in place for readers at weekday Masses and it would seem to be sensible to have a rota for Eucharistic Ministers. Some consideration to be given to putting this in place.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.00 pm.
