Notes of seventeenth meeting held in the Presbytery on Thursday 15th January 2004 at 8:00pm

1. Paul opened the meeting and welcomed those present.
2. Anne then led a prayer & a period of reflection on John 2: 1-11.
3. Coordination & Communication between Parish groups: This meeting had been very well attended with most of the Parish groups represented. It had been agreed that groups should feedback on their activities perhaps a part of a Parish quarterly newsletter. A volunteer to look at the way notices etc are advertised in the porch and at the back of Church to be sought.
4. Youth: Margaret Kelly met with Deacon Michael to discuss how best to engage more of the Youth in Parish ministries. It has been agreed to launch a youth forum aimed at the 16-20 age bracket. It is hoped that the forum will engage with the young people in a social setting and help to build relationships. It is anticipated that members of this forum will attend the 2005 World Youth Day in Cologne.
5. The Hall: Arthur Bowyer and Cath Kelly who are currently looking after bookings for the Hall to be invited to meet with Paul and Kath to discuss and agree the scope of their responsibilities. Members of the PDT to consider an appropriate Parish Strategy for the Hall in readiness for the next meeting on 12 Feb.
6. Bulletin: The new format was launched by the Bulletin Team in the New Year. Only positive feedback has been received and we are very grateful to the Bulletin Team for their continued efforts in producing this weekly publication.
7. Mass Books: Bernard Cooper to investigate the cost of introducing Mass Books to replace the weekly Mass sheets currently used.
8. Parish Protection Team: Bill Cookson reported that the registration process for those involved with activities involving children and/or vulnerable adults will need to be started soon. He also reported that it will be necessary to create job descriptions for all Parish activities undertaken.
9. Parish Census: It was agreed that it was time that Parish records were fully updated. Planning for a Parish Census will be the key agenda item for the next meeting.
10. PDT: A one day retreat to be arranged with Dympna McGee.
11. Date of Next Meeting: Thursday 12 February at 8:00pm
12. The meeting closed at 9:45 with a prayer.
